For the more hard-core collectors, this section
catalogs the world of "unofficial" Elton John live CDs, sometime called "bootlegs".
Although these CDs are typically of sub-standard quality compared to those that are
professionally produced, collectors still treasure them beacuse of the
rarity of the content, which is usually live concert material, a radio or TV broadcast, or
a set of unreleased demo versions. Note that only original "factory-pressed"
releases are listed here. These discs were typically mass-produced just once, in very
limited quantities, even as few as 200. The industrial pressing
process is quite different from the consumer-grade CD-R burning, which has limitless
production quantities. It would be impossible to try to catalog the countless
CD-R concert recordings that have been traded around, so they are not included here.
